HOW TO MAKE A HEART WREATH USING COFFEE FILTERS

I showed you how to make a round coffee filter wreath, but let's make it a heart!

MATERIALS
1. Thin pool noodle. The ones from the dollar tree for 5 and below work great!
2. Wire hangers to shape the heart.
3. Large Expo Marker. I'm sure a regular marker or anything similar to the size will do just fine.
4. Glue gun and glue sticks
5. Scissors - MUST be sharp!
6. Durable string, or chenile wire to make loops to hang your wreath and attach the ribbon
7. Curtain clip to attach and detach ribbon from wreath
8. Scrap yarn to cinch and tie ribbon together
9. Ribbon. Valentine's ribbons were from Michaels. The others I got at Hobby Lobby. Approx 60"
STEP 1
Insert the wire hangers to shape the heart. Tape around the edges
HOW TO ATTACH THE FILTERS:
Place marker in the center of your filter. Squish the sides together.
Dollop glue on bottom of filter. Place and hold on wreath for 5 seconds.
Step 2: Hot glue on the back side around all filters for added support
Step 3: Flip over. Fill in the middle part. I had around 4-5 rows.
Step 4: Trim your filters so they're all even
Here's the result after trimming. *heart eyes emoji*
Step 5: Glue loops on the back. I cut a slit on the noodle, put hot glue in it and on my loop, and stuffed it in there with the help of my scissors. Then glue around string for added support.
Step 6: Cut your ribbon(at an angle). Mine measured approx 60" but this is where you can get creative and put them in different order, or cut them as short or as long as you want. You can make a bow at the top as well.
Step 7: With your scrap yarn, tie and cinch in the center of the ribbon. Secure by tying a knot. Add your curtain clip. This way, you can easily attach the ribbon to the wreath and when you're ready for the next season, you can detach it and hang it up for next year :)
Step 8: After all of that hard work, we want it to last for seasons, even years! So let's weatherproof it! Make sure you're doing this outside. Give it plenty of time to dry before attaching the ribbon.
