KNIT OVERSIZED CARDIGAN | I-CORDIGAN

This next pattern I have made has definitely been a process! I made it 2 years ago and I never posted about it because I wanted to find the right yarn for it. When I came across Bernat Maker Home Dec yarn, I knew it would be perfect impeccable and wanted to work it up right away! It turned out so beautifully, and if you follow me on Instagram, you have seen all the steps I've taken to make sure that this pattern is perfection! That hardest part was making it into the larger sizes. In the photos below, you can see the sleeves were a little too big, and the front pieces were still rolling even after blocking it, so we now have a nice border in the front! I chose some knitters to test out my pattern, and I am so grateful for all of their hard work and feedback! Here are some examples:

This cardigan is very transitional to summer/fall/winter by wearing it with a T-shirt, or adding more layers. it is steam blocked which stretches it out a little and makes it more see through(with it being oversized, you don't want it to be too chunky).

I'm sure you have already noticed that there's an "o" instead of an "a" for cardigan, and that's because there's a few I-cords implemented in this pattern! The I-cords just make the cardigan SO much fun to knit and gives it that little extra "somethin" that you just can't buy at the store so I couldn't help myself but to name it the "I-Cordigan"

Materials I used:

• Size 5 bulky yarn - I used Bernat Home Maker Dec yarn 3-5 skeins depending on size.
• Size US 15 (10.0mm) Circular Needles *MY FAVORITE NEEDLES!!!* Worth every penny, and you save $$$ because you can do everything with them! 
• OR you can use straight needles
• *If you use straight needles, you will also need DPNs.
• Tapestry needle

          TO BLOCK

• I suggest buying this blocking wire kit (this is the one I have)
• T-pins
• Mat floor tiles This is the best deal and it's over 50% off right now!
• You can use an iron that has a steamer option. Or you can get a steamer that can steam horizontally. My steamer does not steam horizontally, so I had to prop my mattress on its side to steam. (super annoying)
